The Stone Masons House Reviews

Francesca
We have a lovely girls weekend away here, the house is clean and well equipped to all your needs particularly in the kitchen! We loved the hottub and the house charm! we can't wait to come back for another stay

A well equipped house in Bronte country with a fantastic hot tub. Added bonus of the Millstack cafe next door for a breakfast treat. Lots of walks in the area and ate at the Haworth Hall Hotel twice which was very good and dog friendly. Haworth village easily accessible by walking and taking advantage of the local pubs. We would have no hesitation to recommend this property.
Rachael
We stayed at the Stone Masons house to be in the area for a family funeral. Whilst it was a sad time for the family, the house itself was a delightful place to stay cosy with warm furnishings and quirky decor that brightened our stay and helped us feel warm when it was very cold outside. The adjoining cafe is well worth a visit for breakfast or lunch too lovely food, great service and very handy! The house was easy to find and everything was in order, it was very clean and well serviced. It would have been a lovely place to stay longer and enjoy the local area, with many beautiful countryside views. The only additional points to note for future guests would be The two parking spaces available to the house are situated in the cafes car park whilst its a short walk to the door of the house, with a lot of luggage this would take a few minutes going to and from. There are some fairly steep stairs to the top bedroom, which is fine if you are all very mobile guests something to be aware of depending on your family group. There isnt a toilet on the middle floor with the dining area and lounge all bedrooms have an ensuite and theres a toilet on the lower floor with the kitchen. We only mention these because we had an elderly person with us, otherwise these would not have presented any issues at all. But it may be useful for future guests to be aware of. Overall this is an amazing house to stay in, very homely. We would definitely return!
Natalie
We have stayed 3 times now, its a beautiful property and we have always really enjoyed staying here. The property is gorgeous and is well equipped, the hot tub is an added bonus!
Had a fabulous weekend to celebrate a family birthday. Party of 7 adults and 1 infant. Plenty of space for everyone. Easy check inout. Great communication with host. House is lovely with some fab quirks no spoilers here Nice and clean. Fantastic surprise there is an actual pool table there now. Lovely location. Defo recommend. Cant wait to stay again.
This is an excellent property in so many ways, location, the wonderful cafe, the quirkiness of the accommodation and so on. Above all though it is refreshing to deal with an owner who has thought people's visits out from the perspective of the visitor and their dogs. As a result everything is convenient and extremely comfortable. The hot tub experience then puts the top hat on all of this. Well done and many thanks to Sally, you really cannot go wrong if considering booking the Stone Mason's House.
It's a fantastic place! The whole area is underappreciated, and the house is the perfect place to explore it from. It's a bonus having the cafe attached, and Sally was a great host
Wonderful stay here for a 2 night girls trip, couldn't fault it ! Perfect location and amenities. Met the owners at the cafe next door who were lovely, and we also had multiple lovely coffees there. Will be recommending.
Clean, comfortable and beautifully furnished. Hot tub a lovely treat in the evening. We went to the cafe next door and had a tasty breakfast. This is a second time and will return again.
Louise

Everything worked perfectly in the house and was extremely comfortable. Pool table a plus. Highly recommended Cafe next door serves a fantastic breakfast Thank you
Wonderful stay at The Stone Masons House. Beautifully furnished, extremely comfortable and everything we needed. The house is in a lovely setting, with immaculate gardens and views, the hot tub fantastic and views superb. Brilliantly located for Howarth with walks to explore. Definitely on our list to return
We really enjoyed our stay and wasn't ready to come home. The house is beautiful, warm and welcoming. Hot tub was spotless and we enjoyed a few games of pool. We walked to oakworth train station and got the steam train up to keighley and back down to howarth. Would highly recommend this. We walked to howarth a couple of times too there's a beautiful park central park and some lovely shops up the cobbled Hill. Then we hit a few of the pubs all welcomed the dogs. All in all one of the best stays we've had.
Absolutely fabulous! ! Stayed to celebrate mums 70th and had the best time. The house was perfect, hot tub was great and the pool table an added bonus. Host very helpful re local restaurants and takeaways. Millstack cafe next door was also great! Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again.
Amanda
Perfect! A beautiful house in a great location. All home comforts have been thought about. The house was comfortable, impeccably presented & spotlessly clean. The hot tub was a lovely treat after a day out sightseeing. Thanks for a lovely break.
Charlotte
We loved this property so much! We stayed in August 2024. The house is so beautifully decorated and as clean as can be. The gardens were beautiful, with a lovely seating area. Other highlights were the extremely comfortable beds, log fire in the lounge, and excellent kitchen facilities, with seating for a large family. We really appreciated the information given to us by the host, helping us find local pubs for dinner and takeaways. Would recommend eating at The Turkey Inn pub quiz night was fun too!, and you must try Oakworth Hall Fisheries just up the road. We loved hearing the steam trains go past every day, and found some great dogs walks on the door step. We would definitely stay again thanks for a fab stay.
The property was lovely and in a great area close to shops, pubs and restaurants. The garden was a great bonus especially for the little ones.lots of parks within a short driveable distance. The property was clean and tidy when we arrived. The hot tub was fab. I can honestly say we had the best holiday ever. The weather of course helped. The owner was lovely and helpful. I dont have anything really negative to say other than the photos on your website need updating as one of the selling points to me was the view from the hot tub. However this has since been fenced in and a gazebo put over the hot tub. However, this did not spoil our enjoyment of it. The only other small thing is my husband and I found the bed a little firm for us. It took a while to get used to it. Having said that overall a superb holiday was had by all.
My family and I stayed here for 4 nights and it was absolutely fantastic. The rooms are really well furnished, the dining room turned into a fun entertainment room, and the jacuzzi outside was fenomenal. You can even see some horses running on a field next to the garden. Sally the owner is very nice and approachable, and she couldn't do any better All in all a fantastic holiday, and we'd recommend it to anyone and everyone.
Beverley
Excellent stay everything you need hot tub a real bonus pool table great addition. Definitely stay again, cafe next door was a bonus and very good. Stairs maybe a problem if mobility issues.
Sandra
The Stonemasons House was absolutely
This is a lovely house with a lot of character. It is tastefully decorated, has good facilities, including very comfortable beds. The garden is pretty and the hot tub is a great way to end the day after a day walking. The cafe right next door offers a great option for breakfast or lunch. It is not too far to walk right into Haworth, or a taxi is very cheap. There are some great walks in this area that you can access from the house. We had a great stay in this house and would recommend highly.
Great house in a lovely location, within walking distance from Haworth. Beds are very comfortable and showers powerful. The hot tub is under a shelter so is perfect for rainy days! The hosts were in contact before we arrived and maintained contact throughout. They regularly serviced the hot tub but respected our privacy by checking it was okay to come. Recommend going on the Worth stream train, walking The Railway Children walk, visiting The Bront waterfall.
Superb property and great location for exploring the Yorkshire Dales Very comfortable beds, great showers, loved the pool table and hot tub and kitchen was very sociable. Would highly recommend
Christopher
We loved the interior design and quirky objects. On arrival the downstairs was very cold, even though the weather was quite warm. It would have been nice to have a welcome package. The Millstack served excellent food and was a real bonus. The beds were very comfortable and everything was really clean and of high quality.
We had a lovely time , the property was absolutely wonderful , full of character , personal touches , historic information , quirky design . Everything catered for , a really bonus to have 3 ensuite also . 6 of us stayed with a dog well catered for and close walk to Haworth which is beautiful, the owner was very accommodating with a later check out also . Would definitely recommend , lots of local walks too
Fabulous stay, lovely welcoming people, very handy with 5 star coffee shop next door! Thanks for a lovely stay x
Katharine
The Stone Masons House is a real gem. Beautifully decorated throughout, comfortable beds best nights sleep weve had for a long time. Really interesting and thoughtful decor. Clearly a lot of love has gone into this house. Great views, chickens visiting the garden handy for Howarth and Hebden Bridge too. And not forgetting the excellent Millstack Cafe next door. Highly recommend. Our dog loved it too
We brought our family 7 of us with two dogs. From the outset. Sally made us welcome and did all she could to make our stay so memorable. I cant find any fault with the place. It just enveloped us like a home from home and made us comfortable.
I loved my stay here at The Stone Masons House. The girls thoroughly enjoyed the stay and found the home clean, cosy and relaxing, especially taking advantage of the fire in the living room. Will definitely be booking again when the weather perks up, but I couldn't thank the owners enough for going the extra mile in making our stay perfect. x
Terrific, relaxing family holiday. Highly recommend. Hot tub and pool table are a great bonus. Cafe next door very welcoming and food is superb.
A lovely house which was very clean and comfortable and had everything that we needed. The pool table and hot tub were an added bonus. The furnishings were in keeping with the property. We loved that it was within walking distance to some pubs and the beautiful village of Haworth. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone wishing to visit this part of the country,
Angela
The cottage was everything we had hoped for, the hot tub was serviced whilst we were there too, so nice and clean. The pool table was a brilliant too. Also the owners suggested we didnt have to rush off on the day of leaving as, wasnt cleaning till the following day. The breakfast at the cafe was lovely too.
A lovely characterful house sympathetically restored with furniture and furnishings pleasing to the eye. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking a Sunday roast. The bedrooms and ensuites perfect for relaxing mornings. 3 generations of us enjoyed the hot tub and the pool table plus the coziness of the log fire. Sally was helpful and friendly in her messages. A very pleasant weekend was had by all. Thankyou Sykes for your efficient service.
Lovely cottage This was are second visit, perfect relaxing and hot tub perfect. Owner so helpful and added bonus of having a coffee shop next to us wasnt there last visit Thanks for a perfect week
Melanie
The Stone Mason's house was perfect for our family holiday. All of the rooms were well equipped and comfortable, there was plenty of entertainment for rainy days and evenings. The hot tub was perfectly placed to see the stunning views. Would definitely return.
Many times to Howarth, second time to Stone Mason's. The owners have a beautiful property. If you want Howarth with space to relax and luxury
It was a lovely stay at the Stonemasons The different levels in the house worked really well for us. The only bad thing , was the blinds in the 1st floor bedrooms on the small windows They were nt black out , so the bedroom s were very light. Overall it was lovely, lovely garden, hottub etc Cakes from the cafe were excellent too .
We absolutely love coming here! Its our fourth visit and its been lush every time. We take our two Newfoundlands who spend all their time exploring the garden while we relax in the hot tub, which is well maintained throughout our stay. The only notes we have this time are very minor but worths watch The cafes success is heartwarming to see and very handy to have next door but when coming and going in the car, the parking situation is a nightmare. Also when the upholstery place has visitors they seem to assume they can park wherever they want and often use the spots designated for the house or block you in. The cleanliness and facilities are always very good here and you can tell the owners take great pride in looking after their property. However theres some small deep clean jobs creeping in that often get missed when youre busy cobwebs and the like so suggest maybe hiring some help in that department. The kitchen also has a lack of equipment compared to when we first started visiting maybe itd be possible to charge guests for the disappearance or damage of pots pans etc. We all know how expensive things are at the moment guests should definitely be showing respect for both owners and fellow guests in this department. What Id like to make clear is that despite me noting these points down, it will NOT stop us booking again and visiting for the fifth time next year. They are mainly constructive points. Sally is a wonderful host and extremely warm businesswoman, you can tell she genuinely LOVES her property and her cafe and takes pride in its success.
We had a wonderful week in this lovely Victorian house. The owners have made a terrific job of restoring it the interior design really compliments the house. We enjoyed sitting in the garden each evening making the most of the unseasonably warm Yorkshire weather. On our last morning, our dog refused to leave until we promised to come back again! By the way, we can really recommend breakfast at the owner's Millstack Cafe next door.
Barbara
The house and location were stunning, and perfect for our family holiday. Plenty room for the 7 of us. Our grandsons especially loved the pool table and we all enjoyed the hot tub. All facilities were included dishwasher, washing machine etc, and it made the stay there relaxing and very enjoyable. Close to all local amenities and beautiful places to visit, many within walking distance Haworth village and Oakworth train station which were amazing, especially for me being a massive fan of The Railway Children . Sally was in touch regularly to keep us up to date about the booking arrangements, key safe codes etc which made it very straightforward and easy to organise. I would highly recommend the Stonemasons House as a place to stay.
Victoria
Fabulous cottage in a lovely area . We had a great week despite the weather and visited Haworth, Hebden Bridge, Ilkley and Skipton all a short distance away . The cottage was very clean and comfortable, we especially loved the hot tub and pool table . We visited the Millstack cafe next door and the food was delicious ! Sally was always on hand and very helpful. We would highly recommend staying here .
